Sullivan & Brill, LLP is pleased to announce a positive development
in the case of Vitaly Korchevsky, our Ukrainian client who is currently
charged with cybercrimes and insider trading. On the morning of August 26,
Attorney Steven Brill, against considerable resistance from the Honorable Raymond Dearie, successfully
argued for the bail release of Mr. Korchevsky until the start of his criminal trial.
The federal government has alleged that Vitaly Korchevsky used hacked information
obtained by his co-defendants to commit insider trading and illegally
gain nearly $100 million. The case is already being called the first of its kind.
Attorney Brill, with assistance from Robert Levant from Levant Martin,
P.C., assertively and thoroughly appealed for the release of Korchevsky
at his 10 am bail hearing in Federal District Court for the Eastern District
of New York this morning. There was also a strong attendance of supporters
for Korchevsky, who is also a popular Slavic Baptist minister.
You can read more about this newest bail ruling on
our official press release. We congratulate Attorney Brill on this early victory and are sure he
will continue to helm Mr. Korchevsky’s case with the same tenacity,
insight, and advocacy he exemplified in federal court today.
